Dear Delegate/NASOG member,
NASOG planned and organised a conference to deliver, to the membership, a program of relevant issues confronting O&G specialists in the arena of: economics, politics and medico-legal; as well as a planned workshop to assist trainees to better plan their careers. This was due to take place on the Gold Coast, on September 25th and 26th 2015.
NASOG had secured the Federal Health Minister, support from RANZCOG and many high quality speakers and sponsors, and the ideal location of Gold Coast in the Spring
Despite this, registrations have been insufficient to guarantee the viability of the planned event, and certainly inadequate to justify the time and effort of speakers and sponsors.
With this unfortunate situation, the NASOG executive have decided to cancel the conference.
The organisation will now prioritise a review of matters relating to the ongoing activities of the organisation. How to communicate with and best represent financial members and how to engage with new graduates and grow the existing membership base will be paramount moving forward. The focus on government lobbying, the upcoming MBS schedule review, current Medicare freeze and mounting challenges with Health Funds needs to be consolidated and endorsed by financial members.
